Words Aloud provides speaking and listening workshops designed to benefit teachers as part of a CPD/INSET day. These workshops accommodate a maximum of 24 staff per session and focus on communication skills for use in classroom which will impact the whole curriculum. All sessions are fun, interactive and practical.
Teachers are given an introduction to the art of effective public speaking, with the objective of building up their own confidence when speaking in front of their colleagues. It is an interactive and practical session and through the use of a range of simple, yet effective games, teachers explore and practise using the most important skills required to become a confident communicator.
These sessions are fun and encourage teachers to experience what pupils will feel when asked to move out of their comfort zone.
I have just seen Mina delivering a session on public speaking to her class. It was amazing. They are a tricky class and they were all enthralled!

Wonderful session and much appreciated. I have gained a lot, thank you!
Kiel Dungate, Teacher, Walker Primary School
Great team building session – as many of the group are new to the school.
When making a booking, schools have the option to choose what they want the teachers to focus on in the afternoon:
Following on from what they have learned in the morning teachers will have a look at how to plan, structure and deliver a speech.
Following on from what was learned in the morning, teachers will be able to observe a pupil centred workshop in action.
Support materials for teachers are provided at the end of each workshop.
